I am in the midst of writing a book on the development of the hepatitis B vaccine and became fascinated with how easily viruses can inadvertently be spread among humans and animals in ways that haven't been thoroughly investigated. In fact on the contrary, the possible dangers of this have been largely dismissed by scientists and regulators. These essays address this quandary.
